Container modification (a modified or converted container) turns a standard ISO freight container into an office, café, kiosk, storage unit, site building or living space through cutting, reinforcement, insulation, electrical and interior fit-out work. Uskont does this under its modifiTAINER brand in its Istanbul workshop: from discovery and design approval through structural fabrication and interior fit-out to delivery at your address, the process runs under one roof. How long does a modification project take?

Does a container structure need a permit?
It depends on the intended use and where it will be installed; uses that qualify as permanent structures may be subject to municipal regulations. The exact requirements should be confirmed with your local municipality — we provide guidance during the design stage.
